Royal Air Force Early Airplane Tyre Pressure Gauge
With original wooden case, Stores Reference 4G/4213.
It has no Air Ministry marks or NATO stock No. But the company Pneumatic Components Limited Sheffield started trading in 1938. It is housed in its original case as shown and it has a little brass plaque on the front of the case which has the military crows foot emblem and states Gauge, Tyre, Pressure 24-176 Lb/Sq. In. Stores ref. No. 4G/4213 Contract No. A66026/50/C.10.(a) then the serial number 5419.
The gauge itself states P.C.L. Airplane Gauge patent Nos. 615020, 515877 & 621832. Made in England by Pneumatic Components Limited Sheffield A66026/50/C.10(a) and the military crows foot above 4G/4213
The gauge still looks in tip top condition for age with only light wear to the metal parts from use and some light scuffing on the black part. The box is weathered and grubby / oily in places, but still intact and works fine. Length of gauge is approx 11 ¼”
