FIREFIGHTER HELMET FROM THE COMMUNE OF De St CYR, TYPE 1855, SECOND EMPIRE. - Helmet entirely made of brass. Crest with fins stamped with 11 gadroons. Front plate stamped in relief with a cartouche embossed with flaming grenade at the centre topped with a town crown and flanked with fireman axes against a background of a radiant sun with a ribbon bearing the inscription “Srs POMPIERS DE St CYR”. Visor and neck cover surrounded by a rush folded astride the outer edge. Chinstraps with mobile scales. Brown leather interior. and finished with a red feather plume. Very good condition
