at the outbreak of the Second World War, Artillerie-Regiment 152 initially manned defensive positions in the Saarpfalz to deter a French incursion in to Germany, and later participated in the spring 1940 invasion of France. It later participated in Operation Barbarossa as part of Army Group Centre, and was disbanded in November 1943 after being decimated in the fighting for Smolensk.
