This is a Bavarian Long Service Medal, Third Class, awarded for 9 years of honorable military service in the Kingdom of Bavaria. The obverse features a crowned Bavarian shield over a Maltese-style cross surrounded by a wreath, with the words “Treue Dienste bei der Fahne” (Faithful Service Under the Flag). The reverse is inscribed “Dienstauszeichnung III. Klasse” with the Roman numeral “IX” at center, denoting 9 years of service.
