A white metal circlet surmounted by a Queen Victoria Crown, struck in one piece with the words ‘1 VOLr BTTn ROYAL SUSSEX on the circlet. In the centre of the circlet is a white metal plumes & Maltese Cross superimposed with The motto of the Order of the Garter,


This pattern was approved in 1885.
