Life Preserver, Aircrew, MK.4. Stores reference 22c/1479. A Special Production Of Beaufort Division, Birkenhead by P. Frankenstein & Sons (Manchester) Ltd. Circa 1950s orange fabric 'waistcoat' with adjustable webbing rear waist strap. most of the pockets (for the survival kit/water activated torch, rescue beacon etc) are present as are the 3 front buttons and zipped 'pocket' for the CO2 inflation cylinder / operating head. The material is reasonably clean and retains good strong colour.

MARKED FOR 65 SQUADRON RAF DUXFORD. Hawker Hunter F.6 (December 1956) at RAF Duxford from August 1952 until the squadron disbanded on 31 March 1961
